I deleted ALL my downloads, all the extra music, and only have Sims2 and Pets installed. And I'll go through the game from ten-thirty minutes and my game will completely crash. Help?:smt120

you should try to figure out when exactly the game crashes. is it when the sims are doing something, like using a refridgerator, patting their dog, or something like that? it might help a lot. it might be a pets bug if your game is not patched.

Where might I find a patch? A link would be lovely and which patches I need.

And it's not when they do anything specific, it's just random and annoying >_>

the official sims2 site, http://thesims2.ea.com/update/index.php . you usually need the patches for the EP's you've got. but i'm not sure if you need to install them all. or if you need to install patches for earlier games. I think Beosboxboy posted something about it, in which order you should install the games and such, but I'm not sure where I saw it (try searching for it).

try deleting the files named accessory.cache and groups.cache in the The Sims 2 folder. they can be a bit buggy sometimes.

if you try to remember when exactly your game started crashing, then that might be a help.

(oh, and cigen.package is also safe to delete - it usually shows up when you run bodyshop)

There isn't any specific time that it crashes, it's just random throuhgh playing the game.

Can you give us your computer and graphics card specs?  How much memory/RAM do you have on your computer?  Do you have any background tasks running while you play the game?  (because they will sap a lot of memory while it's running, so the best way to solve that is to close them out through the Task Manager in the Processes tab)

I always make sure I don't have anything running while the game is running because I know it will mess it up.
I'm not really aware of my graphics card and stuff, but I know it's good, haha. Where could I find that stuff?
