Can I ask for help here?

Sorry if this isn't the right place.  
I need to delete a couple of hacks/mods I've downloaded.  Problem is, I can't tell the difference from a hack or an object in my downloads folder.  I have a lot of stuff in there and I'm looking for a way to separate the hacks from the objects.
