I'm using the old patch (the one that was pulled, which I'm guessing doesn't have the updated version), and the new crack. No problems
I'm staying as far away from that new patch as humanly possible after what I've heard about it

Good idea. I've gotten rid of SuckROM and am using a crack as well.
