So the new FT patch was released today. I was SO happy it fixed things from like 3 years ago. BUT apparently it comes with an update for SecuROM. If you have emulation software then you are screwed. I cannot play my game and EA is giving me the run around right now and I'm really upset. I cannot play my game at all. I spent almost 300 dollars on all the EPs and SPs. Does anyone know of a work around so I can use it? When I try to play the game it says "Conflict with emulation software detected" and then will not play the game. *cries*

Can you be more specific as far as what software you use?

I've heard that if you go to Start/Programs/EAGames and click the FreeTime shortcut there, it will bypass all the SecuRom crap.

Try not using the desktop shortcut.

Another idea might be, go to your Program Files/EAGames/, and look inside your Free Time Folder
You should see a FreeTime icon.

Use that to create a shortcut to your desktop.

So far, that's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

I would just wait until the new NoCD fix comes out, which should be very soon, then use that. No cd, No SecuRot, No shit.

Yeah see thats the thing I don't know. And it doesn't tell me what software its conflicting with. I just said forget the patch and did a system restore I have had it EA I'm done buying their crap and downloading their patches that break more than they fix. They will not be getting another dime from me. No one tells me what I can and cannot put on MY computer *grumble*

The software securom detects: Fantom CD Emulator
Alcohol 120%
Nero image Drive
Phantom CD
Clone CD
Ark Virtual Drive
and Veritas DLA
You can remove them from your control panel. Once these are removed you will be able to play your game again. This is how i had to resolve the conflict.Hope this helps, and good luck.

I was looking for that list.

I'll have to make a copy of it.

Thank you.

Did you download the game or did you buy it?

My understanding is, if you did a digital download, the update isn't going to work.

Or, if you have Norton Anti-Virus, that could play a part also.

I'm looking around here and there trying to find ideas to help you out.

I understand your frustrations, believe me.

Let me look around more and see what I can come up with.

Yeah me too and the only answers I've found are uninstall my emulation software (there goes my ability to make CDs and DVDs because what it appears to be conflicting with is Roxio Creator) or don't play the game with the patch. It really sucks that they are treating loyal customers like criminals. Thanks for your help though hun Smiley Much appreciated!

You're welcome for the help!

I've been doing a Google search on your problem. It seems like, (for now anyway), uninstall the game, reinstall it, but don't add the patch.

People have better luck without the patch than with it.

Their same problem is, the burner software.

If I find more info, I'll let you know.

I have the same problem.  Before the patch, i could play my game just fine, now i'm getting the emulation message as well.  I think I'll do the same and just uninstall and reinstall.  man, this sucks!
