Belle, why don't you ask the Tech Support at MTS2?

have you tried opening it by clicking the exe file in the TSBin? I get that error for  BV when I go through the launcher, but not when I go directly.

My Computer>>DRIVE LETTER>>Program Files>>Ea Games>>EP Folder>>TSBin>>Sims2EP7.exe (or something like that, I only have up to BV)

It sounds like something might be honking around in your Windows Registry maybe, since the program says it's there but the Sims execution says it isn't. Tech support is your best bet. Follow the link gali put up and search for direct x and see what might be offered as a solution. Wish I knew something more to suggest. Good luck with it.
