So I have one family where the daughter just recently became a teenager, now I didn't notice it before cause as a child she had her hair down, but as a teenager her hair was pulled back and low and behold she's got pointy elf ears. Now both of her parents have regular ears. Is this just something that happens sometimes?

What generation is she? Were either parents Maxis sims? I've heard that sometimes the Maxis sims have elf ears in their genetics. I think this is especially true for Veronaville sims.

Her parents are sims that I created myself and I know I didn't give either parent pointy ears. lol. They also live in Pleasentville.

Well...I have no idea what to tell you. It is weird, though.

I had this same thing happen to me when I first installed Pets, two CAS Sims of mine produced a set of twin boys with elf ears(neither Sim had the ears, plus I had no hacks or CC)I have never found an answer either

I just find it really amusing. I don't have pets yet, just Deluxe w/Nightlife, Uni and all the stuff packs. I'm wondering if when I marry her off to one of my other sims if any of their kids will have pointy ears.

At the time,I had all sp's and EP's up to Pets,I sent the kids to Uni and unfortunately their elf ears went away:smt120I also thought it was cute, for some reason elf ears don't freak me out, maybe they will pass on the freaky genetics,I uninstalled my game before they could breed and find out

I hope they don't go away when she goes to Uni. That would suck cause I like them on her.
