A friend of mine loaned me his copy of Sims 2(base game, no ep) for a month while she's away, and it's been working for 3 weeks, and suddenly I want to play this morning and nothing shows up when I start the program; no error message or that white splash screen with the Sims 2 logo. I looked in task manager and the Sims2.exe process never shows up whenever i try to start the game.  The DVD drive seems to be working but stops after a few seconds, and running the program as an administrator doesn't do anything to help as well.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled it twice, but nothing's working.

Groups.cache & Accessory.cache:  Delete them.  Wink

(Just in case you don't know, they're in your C:\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 directory, same as where your Downloads folder is located.)
