Glitch....? Mailbox problems

Hey all.
I'm having some problems with my mailbox. When I go tell my sims to "Get Bills" they go up to the mailbox, but the icon disapears (fades) and my sims stand uselessly in front of my mailbox and the bills stay in the mailbox.
I already got a visit from the repo man and got another warning from Sims Collections telling me to pay my bills....what should I do?
