I often see stuff described as such on MTS2 but I don't know what it is.

Sometimes things (code, objects, textures) get disabled before the game ships. An object may not have worked properly, EA ran out of time and could not finish it, it is to be saved for another Sims game to be released, or some other unknown reason. It is still in the game, but just not enabled where the player can see it. Modders come across these things when they look through the code and the game's files. They clean them up and fix them if necessary, and re-enable them. They were lost, but now they are found.

I don't think SimPE works with Macs, so probably not.

I've just started messing around with recoloring maxis furniture and such, so I've not found anything myself yet. But my computer is slow, so it takes too long for me to load up the maxis furniture to mess around too much.
