When Sims have a grandfather clock, they need to wind it otherwise the clock will just stop ticking.  You also need to maintain it in order for it to work properly.

This mod will stop Sims from autonomously doing it.  So if this behavior is bothering you just install this Smiley  I must say I don't see my Sims doing this often but since only 1 or 2 house have a grandfather clock it is understandable. Smiley

I was the mad who asked for this.
Even I don't have now many "no-autonomous..." hacks (in fact only kick-bag, pillow-fights and poker), my sims have an absolute "wind the grandfather clock" obsession.
They wind (recharge) the clock every 30 - 45 sim-minutes (and in the rest of time, if not controlled, they admire themselves into mirrors, DOH! ).

This little hack works great and finally solves a big annoyance.
And if the clock stops to go, I simply order a sim to wind it.

One other note about maintain every time a sims maintains the clock there is a chance of the clock breaking and turning into a pile of rubble.

OMG!  I have been looking all over for this, my sims are driving me nuts.  They won't leave the clock alone! Thank you so much!

That certainly doesn't make sense... shouldn't they have made it chance to break on "winding" of clock, not maintaining it? I mean, come on, maintenance is done to "prevent" breakage. Otherwise, why do it?  Certainly sounds like Maxis didn't have a clue again when coding.
