Its just a game about scoring with a girl. Yes that's feature in The Sims but The Sims has more to it that that. It has 2 DVDs (one for creating and one for playing) and takes up about 6G of hard drive space. Again it's just about sex! It is wildy popular in Japan! There is no American release of it because it is considered porn (I agree) and wil not be released here.

 Seriously?!  :eh:  Dang...  Oh well.  The face-changing options are still quite interesting.  Definitely NOT a complete comparison of the full game of Sims 2, but option wise in the area of face customization, AG3 looks a little bit more interesting than our beloved Sims IMO.  Too bad it's just another ecchi "romance" simulator...

I'd actually be happy if my updates for TS3 came to around $300. I suspect that it could be much more. There seems to be a lot of sales tax or something on computer parts in Australia, because I can't see a good video card being under $250.
Like so many others I'm worried about the spec's. If it needs a dual core processor, new operating system, video card etc etc I might just as well get a new computer. Here that means at least $2000. All I'm left with from my old one is a hard drive and dvd player!
I live in hope that the 'granny's laptop' quote will mean my perfectly good P4 system may run the game adequately on medium settings.

That video of "artificial girl" was kind of cool but the artificial girl looked cartoonish. Do they have cc for that game?

Since when is America opposed to porn? Look at the advertisements big companies have.  It's nothing but wanna be porn.

I won't even get Bon Voyage because I'm scared it's going to mess up my computer.  I'm still on Seasons.

And it's odd that Maxis wants to control any cc with the exchange.  The reason everyone likes our cc's so much is because Maxis creates such awful stuff.
I was suckered into getting that Family Stuff for $20.  I was so mad after I saw the content.  I would have rathered paid a bunch of donations to cc sites and gotten tons of really good stuff. But I think that's what Maxis wants to cut out.  Since they have no talent in designing-they have to eliminate the competition so we'll be stuck with their retarded animal head hats, hideous wall paper/floors...well, I'm sure I don't have to explain this to you guys.

I'm so happy I got my dance cage!  I'm going to go and play with it now.

Here's a direct X 10 card in Oz for about $100...
http://www.pcmarket.com.au/9868_ASUS_EN8500GT_Silent_Magic_HTD_512M_nVidia_GeForce_.php

and free shipping!.....

I am not in Oz but do a google search and I'm sure you'll find more dealers with decent cards....that's the first dealer I pulled up...

And I feel bad for people who will have financial struggles to upgrade their machines, but the MS is ending the product life of XP and so soon nothing is going to be written for it...If you only want to run old programs you will be fine, but for everything new you are going to have to upgrade....MS extended the lifespan on XP six times so in fact we got a lot more life out of it than was expected....but don't rush out and get Vista yet, as there's some buzz that Windows 7 (the next one after Vista) is coming much sooner than expected....and will be superior to Vista....The fcat that many large corporations and governments are refusing to use Vista is forcing MS to bring out Windows 7 sooner than they wanted...

UPDATE...

here's a good system that will run Vista or XP...starting at $700...Remove components like the keyboard(use your old one) and it gets cheaper or you can bump up RAM and what not with the savings

You'd be surprised how big and hypocritical the grand ol' US of A is.  Or not.

And from what I researched after kevida informed me of it... ()  Yes, there are some mods for it.  Not worried about the "cartoonish" look as much as the extra option ideas, like I mentioned before.  I certainly would like to be able to re-size the irises without photo-editing, or even change the ears without making them look overly deformed.  Even the option for separate eye colors was pretty thrifty.  Nice touch to it.    Like I said, as a whole game, AG3 has nothing on Sims... but with it's interesting face-modifying options, that has a definite one-up on Sims at the moment.  That's just my honest opinion.  Wink

I WILL give this to AG3. The graphics are awesome. Everything is detailed from head to (literally) toes! It would be good to combine AG3's graphics with The Sims gameplay but could you imagine what a resource hog that would be?:snorting:

It won't be out by then, I don't think, but we'll probably have moved past the "buzz" stage and be hearing some solid information...XP's product sales life ends in June, so I imagine by septemper/october MS should be putting out some official press releases

Thanks btm, your imput on computer parts has been helpful. I've bookmarked that site for later, no point upgrading until we are closer to the release date.

Hi. I remember someone here saying that FreeTime is the LAST EP... Well, it isn't. There's one more called "Apartment Life". It a really new EP and it would be released this fall of 2008. We don't have a season such as "fall" here in the Philippines, so I'm not sure when it would be really released. There's a new NPC, which is a landlord. The EP's name is already self-explanatory. I saw this at Wikipedia.org when I searched for "The Sims 2" there. I don't know if there are more details at thesims2.ea.com. I got tired of opening the site because its soooo slooow. I don't know if anyone has already mentioned this new EP, but I just posted it anyway, just in case. And this isn't a TS2 page, its a TS3 page, but I don't know where else to post this. Whee!!! Cheesy

Fall = autumn, but you probably knew that, lol. Anyways, it usually starts around September 21 and lasts around 3 months, so yeah.

Actually, over in the Philippines and other equatorial locations, they only have two seasons:  Summer and Rainy.  (I just re-learned this myself, which was a pretty cool reminder.  Wink)   Whatever season it is that falls in the months of September, October, and November is the season it'll be released.

Oh, I do believe certain countries just don't have fall. That's why I mentioned when it usually starts over here and how long it tends to last. Tongue
