i wasn't meaning to yell-or maybe i was cause i am sooooooooooooo excited for the sims 3 and i just found out a lot of info on it. here is what i know:

-you play a whole neighborhood, meaning that your sims can visit other sims houses
-you can follow them in their car around town
-the graphics are soooo much better
-they still talk in simlish bawl:(it just kinda bugs me)
-you can scale their body just like sims 2 faces (fat, skinny, arm and leg thickness)
-it is coming to stores february 20th 2009
-from this moment, there is 182 days 10 hours 42 minutes 10 seconds until it arrives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rabbit:

yeah when I saw the skin tone and weight sliders I though the same thing about how easy it will be to creat custom content...anyone have any idea?

Maybe EA wants to force us to buy their expansion packs by making it harder for modders, then again I think they'd lose a lot of goodwill from the community and a lot of business by doing so..

thoughts anyone?

Don't want it, won't get it because of their draconian copy protection method. Just sayin.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I do want it. I'm getting it. Their "draconian copy protection method" doesn't bother me. Just sayin'.

Oh man, I can't wait. Personally I'm going to play sims 3 and keep playing the sims 2 as well. I just gotta upgrade my computer with some more memory/ram. haha..

That's so funny that there are protesters! I must say some of the screenshots look a little sims 1-y to me.. a little disappointed, but then again, these look like they were taken with a digital camera, not actual screenshots.. so who knows! I guess I'll just have to wait til' Feb.

OMFGWTFBBQ!  I just read the article linked above.  That's it.  No Sims3 for me for sure.  Back up the truck.  I'm done!

From the article:

Electronic Arts, maker of "Sims 3," is working with IGA to provide dynamic in-game ads -- which can be switched in and out of the game via an internet connection -- to the latest version of what has become the world's most-played PC game. In its first new version in five years, "Sims" players will be able to venture beyond their houses and lots out into Pleasantville, where they can go to the movie theater, the sports arena or the grocery store.

Advertising is very organic to the 'Sims 3' experience," said Steve Seabolt, VP-global brand development for the Sims label. Movie-theater posters and billboards will host ads, and EA will continue to integrate brands into the gameplay.

Mr. Seabolt cited an example involving an over-the-counter pain remedy. "Suppose your Sim had a tough day, or the Sim kids are out of control, maybe the Sim worked out -- that could be a moment for that particular pain relief," he said. "And they take that pain relief and feel restored, better rested ... less on edge.
"

Oh, really?  Well, I'm on the edge right now!  I have Excedrin Headache 147 MF!  If I want to be force-fed advertising in my entertainment I'll go watch television, all right?!

...

All the more reason to have them intrude into your gameplay experience... and heaven knows what else.

I find the idea of my happy little sims-world being littered with ads from stuff I´d never buy disgusting!:tongue6:
No no, this is not a good idea, EA.:naughty:

I wasn't getting TS3 anyway but I'm definitely not getting it now if they're going to put ads in it like that cuz I barely buy clothes as it is and its definitely not brand names like that if I do get them and I don't go to movies or sports events either so it would just get on my nerves seeing all the ads in there like that so EA is selling one less copy of TS3 since I'm keeping my money and staying with TS2.
