I heard that you get more pets with Apartment Life! Is it true, and do you need to have Pets installed to get apartment pets?

Aw... I thought you got more types of pets like maybe a turtle or a bunny. I know Nintendo DS has those but I heard the PC version did too.

I heard about it but I thought it was only for people with Pets installed. I chose not to have it installed because I didn't think it brought too much to the game.

Back on topic here, how do you get the dog? Smiley

I remember seeing a screencap of a witch sommoning a black cat. But without AL installed (I'm still waiting for some mods to be updated) I couldn't check. Anyone else try it?

Only 1 dog available in AL. Its much like the hamster from 'Pets'. You choose a breed etc as a colour option. It doesnt really do anything fun tho.

To get it, buy a pen for it.
Then Stock the pen.

I was hoping for snakes or iguanas myself. Ah well.

Sorry to double post...
The black or white spectral cat is a cat you can summon with a bad or good witch. You need pets to make it work tho

How do you summon the witches cats? Haven't managed to find that option yet.

Summon Spectral Cat only appears in the spell list with pets installed.
It does not age, nor breed, and the lifespan meter look like servo's lifespan meter.

Shame, would have been nice have more pet options, like lizards, snakes, but not spiders........
I didnt realise AL came with any new pets. When I had a sim as an evil witch, I just made a black cat lol.

I haven't summoned the spectral cat but when I went to the good witch's castle her spectral cat was incredibly annoying and meowed constantly.  I bought my stuff and got the heck out.  Normally I would have enjoyed chatting with the witch and hanging out on the lot.  This may have just been a one time thing tho, I haven't visited the lot since.

I know, that seems a given that you would at least get dragons.  I've done some searches on the net though and got a really cute deer (listed under small dog) and racoon (under cat) and stuff like that.  As usual, Maxis doesn't have a lot of imagination and I'm just glad they've set the game up to allow for custom content.

The small house dogs are a waste of space and money.  My sims have more fun with a womrat or a bird.
