Hi guys how are you?

Well I am here because I need help, I recently got a new computer and I am trying to install my sims game and the expansions pack as well to my new computer. I am having a problem with installing The Sims 2 Double Deluxe and Apartment Life. Autrun is not showing up AT ALL!

And when I say AT ALL, yes not in "My Computer>>(D: ) Drive)" no where. I tryed to go to Start>>Run>>D:\Autorun. But that didn't work at all either! However, when I inserted Bon Voyage in the disk drive IT DID COME UP! :smt104

I know the disk isn't scratched because I bought a new yesterday because I thought my old one was scratched. Basically, I wasted my money!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Does your computer have a CD drive?

If that's the case, double check the formats of the other games.

I don't understand what your asking?

If you mean a place for me to put the CD in, YES IT DOES.

Sorry, I'm not that familiar with computers and their drives and what-not. Could you be more specific?

How do I find out this information? I believe CD. It says "Compact Disc [ReWritable]" on the disc tray. Is that helpful?

Simlister it should say CD or DVD on the front of your disc drive - so by the looks of it you have a CD drive.

If you have PC DVD versions of the game for the exp packs where Autorun does nothing it may be because your CD disc drive cannot read it. You will need a DVD drive to run PC DVD versions of the game. The Bon Voyage you have may be CD version and the others DVD - I believe the newer Sims exp packs are in the PC DVD format.
Check the top of your games' boxes and see whether they say PC CD or PC DVD.^^

OK

Let's try this.

Look at the box to Bon Voyage. If it say's CD Version, that one works.

Now, look at the other boxes, if they say DVD Version, that's why they don't work.

Question, can you put a DVD movie in your computer and watch it?

You could buy a DVD disc drive - or you could buy the games again as PC CD version instead. I don't know how much a DVD disc drive is but I'd guess it'd be cheaper than buying all the EPs again.^^

Do the other cases say, DVD Version?

If so, your computer can't run them.

The only EP I have in DVD is Apartment Life, and the Double Deluxe.

Now, if your computer has a CD drive, those won't work at all.

If you can, take them back to the store and tell them you bought the wrong version.

Double Deluxe and Apartment Life are available only on DVD.  There is no CD version.  Returning them to the store won't do any good unless you go for a digital download from EA.

DVD drives are cheap.  More and more software is available only on DVD.  Save yourself some heartache and get a DVD drive.
