What I do is, take out the stuff I really, really don't need.

I honestly don't need 499 different skintones.

I don't need 6,722 different recolors of one bed.

What I did do was, find one or two different kitchen sets that are totally versatile. Found one living room set that I can change any way I want. Found one bedroom set that gives me high comfort and energy with recolors. And, I'm pretty happy.

I put all my downloads (original files) on an extra drive in my computer that does not have an OS. That way I don't have to go searching for them, and I don't clutter up my C drive and if my game crashes, I have all of them in one place. It's saved me countless headaches restoring my game.

Delete. Delete. Delete.
But make sure you back up in case you want something (specific) back-

Treat it like your closet (in my case anyway Wink) If you havent worn/used something in a while, put it aside, out of the closet/downloads folder and just leave it. If you dont really miss it for a week, delete it.
Or put it on the charity pile (clothes Wink)

After I download the zip/rar file, I rename it, so I know exactly what it is.

I've got a folder where I put downloads I don't really need in my game at all times - and put them in when I need them again. I also have an external harddrive where a lot of the older downloads went.

an external harddrive or DVD/CD's or something like that is very useful to save the tons of CC you only need once in a while. Also, don't download things if you don't really need them. You don't need the set of 30 pants and 50 tees just because you liked two of them. That's what S2Cleanistaller is for, you know Smiley

I once had 10000 unsorted downloads in my l folder. I had no idea what I had, and had lots of downloads I never used at all, especially sims with tons of unneeded CC, and a lot of clothes missing meshes. Now I'm mostly sorting them in folders with pics and links to the exact place I found them - just to know ëxactly what I've got. It's also easier to take out things you've never used, and it's a lot easier to find them if you're looking for a spesific download.
