I currently have University, Nightlife, and Open For Business installed. I installed Uni first then i installed Nightlife. When i opened NL, it started with something like "You have uninstalled The Sims 2 University. If you continue...." I clicked Continue and went on. I then installed OFB next and then the same problem appears:

Everytime I install a newer expansion pack, the older exp packs get uninstalled. What should i do?:3:smt120

I'd install them in order.

base game-patch-reboot
University-patch-reboot
Nightlife-patch-reboot
OFB-patch-reboot

I have the same exact games, and that's what I do. Never had a problem

A rule of thumb, always patch your games.

What you might want to do is, delete the Sims 2 folder inside My Documents. Then try reinstalling.

Yeah I know that rule. But since there was this problem that pops out again when I'm patching the base game:
I downloaded the patch from the official site and I have the DVD version, it works well until it reaches the object: "TSData\Res\ContentRegistry" and an error occurs with a message: "Error during update installation" then it closes the patch window leaving my Sims 2 unpatched.
So I decided to skip patching my base game.
Tried all possible solutions: Reinstalling, installing manually, removing customs, redownloading the patch Now I'm trying to get a new copy of Sims 2 and hope it works.

You might try copying the contents from the DVD base game installer to a temp folder on the desktop and install from there.

After installing the base game, then install its update patch.

I remember reading of others with this prob on the official site a few years ago. It had something to do with errors in the installer copying some files from the DVD during install if I remember right.
