Can I put pre-made lots up for rent? If I can, how?

Hello.

There are many lots in my lot catalog that are set up like row houses/town homes/brownstones that were created before Apartment Life was released. I tried to turn the properties into rental properties by changing the doors to the little hardwood door with the mat just like the pre-made AL lots had, but changing the door did not give me the option of renting.

I also tried to change the lot zone to "apartment" (just like "changelotzoning hotel" etc.), but the code shows up as an error when keyed in.

Is there a way to put pre-made lots up for rent?

Besides changing the front door, you have to remove any other doors or have them open to an enclosed area.  Put a fence up around the backyard with the only access to it being through the apartment.

Once that's done, changelotzoning apartmentbase should do the trick for you.
