I got really frustrated and deleted my dowloads folder. Is my game ruined now or do I just get to start over. Also...is there anyway to organize my downloads folder? Please help?

Just make a new Downloads folder.

If you had any Custom Content, you will have to replace it all over again.

Or, if it's your Recycle Bin, just click on Restore Item.

Organizing your Custom Content.

No, it won't ruin your game, but if you had CC walls, floors, doors - you will see them in default colors; CC objects will dissapear, and if your sims wore CC clothing, it will be replaced by Maxis one.

Yes, you have to collect your downloads again.

For the future, before any  reinstalling, save all your TS2 folder (the one in My Documents) to another driver, as a backup (copy/paste).

Folders that will be deleted when reinstalling:
1) Downloads.
2) SavedSims.
3) PackagedLots.
4) Played Neighbourhoods.
5) Collections will be installed original.
6) Terrains will be installed original.

Thanks. I was really worried there for awhile. I had about 12000 files just sitting there...One more question. While organizing can everything be put into different folders. For Instance can the sims I install be place each in there own folder? LIke I use clean installer to install them move all for the one sim into a folder just for that sim?

I suggest you take a look at this site http://www.gangstersims.com/sampledlfolder.htm

It is a "premade" organization folder you can download, and it is really great, IMO.  Seperate premade folders for diff categories.

I am having to re dl everything too, due to PC crash, so I feel your pain!

Sims and other work fine in their own folders.
Only stuff whic has a heirarchy limit seems to beBuild Mode CC which can only go one folder deep.
I make one folder per imported lot for each Custom House with it.

Use all of the subfolders you want i.e
My Documents
 EA Games
  -The Sims 2
  -- Downloads
   ---  Walls
    --- Floors
    --- Female Hair
    --- Living Room
    --- Challenge Sets
.........
You get the idea Smiley
