Changing family name?

I recently had a couple get married, but instead of the woman taking the man's last name, they both have the woman's last name.

While this really isn't a big deal, I would just like to know if there is a way I can change the family name.

If not, it's not a problem. I was just wondering.

What I did was, use SimPE and went to neighborhoods, the neighborhood they are in and scanned for the person.

The last name showed up deleted it, typed the new name in and made sure I saved the changes.

use this hack by christianlov it works well i use it all the time.

Thanks for these suggestions. As I said, it is not a big deal if I can't change the name.

And from reading about SimPE, I don't think I'll be comfortable enough using it. I'm not good with those sorts of things.

I'll try the hack and see if that works.

I also use this mod that allows you to choose which name they will share at marriage. http://nene.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=223528 it works great for me
