I just bought Sims2 double deluxe and installed it but I cant get it to go above 800x600 screen res.  I checked the requirements on the box and my system exceeds them I have updated my driver through nvidia and windows updates and it still wont budge.  I even followed the insructions at maxis. The games seems to work fine but my monitor requires that I run at 1680x1050 for a sharp picture. Does anyone know of a fix for this. otherwise it's going back to walmart:blob6:

If you run it at 1680x1050 the game will run slow. I run mine at 1024x768 even though I can set it higher.

How much RAM does your video card have?  And what specific model is it?

I had the same problem . Do you any EPs installed ? if so, download a patch and it should be fixed .

No ep's other than the ones in the package.  Should I download the individual patches as if they were separate packs?I.E. Sims2patches+Nightlifepatch

I don't know if this is exactly the same thing EA told you, but have you tried this method out?

Doesn't the game automatically configure itself to your computer specs?

My resolution is at 1024x768. I can take it alot higher if I wanted to, but I left well enough alone.

I thought that it would.  I had sims2 installed and it worked fine,  I think it ran at 1040x900 or somthing like that, but this double deluxe pack doesn't go over 600x800 and I can't figure out why.   I've tried everything that I can think of but nothing helps.  I think I will Have to return it and keep playing with my original game. It's A real bummer but maybe I'll get bon voyage I think my sims would like a swin in the ocean.

Thanks for all your help everyone and if anyone does figure this one out, please post the solution so the next guy can find it.
