Hey everyone,
I recently got a completely new computer system with 64 bit Vista Ultimate Edition
and an ATI Radeon HD 4800 graphics card that runs on DirectX 10.
So every time i try to start up Body Shop it gives me that
"The application has crashed. The application will now terminate." error.
But the game itself seems to be working just fine, it's just Body Shop that gives me that error on startup.
I did delete the cache files and the cigen.package file and i have no idea what to do.
I tried setting the compatibility mode and did everything i could think of, but got no results.
Game works but Body Shop doesn't.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
Could it be related to Vista or any hardware or DirectX 10?
I'd really appreciate any help,
if i left out any info that might be useful, please let me know,
i have no clue what to do about it myself since i'm a complete n00b when it comes to troubleshooting and program errors....

have you tried pulling out your Downloads folder and opening Bodyshop with no cc? If it opens fine, then you have something in your CC causing the crash.

Also, make sure all your drivers are updated Smiley

If you did that, and it's not your custom content in your Downloads folder causing the crash, chances are you have a corrupted sim in your SavedSims folder.  You might want to consider checking through that folder also.

Ive been having the same problem with body shop crashing when trying to run it since I installed the last two expansions. I have a fresh game - no saved sims or downloads.

I had that problem a while back, i had just downloaded some CC and it started crashing so i removed the CC and it was fine again.

P.s. I don't know if this is the right form or anything but does anyone know why my Sims always crashes on me when i download Snowstorms sleigh nursery & bedroom furniture ??

Actually Johnny, that's thread hijacking, which is a no-no...

if your game is crashing every time you install a particular download, then there's something in that download breaking your game. It might need you to have an EP or SP you don't have.

Please, next time start your own thread ok? Smiley

dunno if you've already tried this - but try to delete the accessory.cache, groups.cache, contentregistry and cigen.package files. I've had had troubles with bodyshop several times, but this often helps.

Also, I noticed that some downloaded extracted clothes (hidden or work clothing) might cause bodyshop to crash too.

Well as it turned out it was a corrupted file in the Saved Sims folder.
Actually my Sim hating husband helped me by finding the corrupt file Cheesy
So i guess for now the problem is solved and everything works like it should for once Tongue
Thanks Smiley
