I had a HUGE game crash and need to re-install I un-installed everything but when I put the Sims 2 nu. 1 disk in to install it  nothing happened, why?

To help us understand your question better, can you specify which expansion packs you own and installed in what order? Which specific "sims 2" disk?

Im going out on  a limb here and guess...

Your most current sims disk is needed to run the game. Im assuming "Freetime". Deluxe edition requires 1 disk, the special features disk does not excecute the game it's self. Regular disk, DVD format is required to run the game. Standard version (older copies) require 4 disk.
