Sims 2 in Window mode xp

Okay...Ive searched around the net and cant find any help.

I want windows mode in windows xp.
But it just wont work.
With the -w at the end of it.
I joined it to my sims2 launcher and the AL start.

When I start the launcher with it it doesnt really open but its strangely in my processes. and not applications.

:S Im really confused and I do enjoy windows mode an awful lot..If there is any help i would maybe love that to pieces.
If not...Oh well. I would prefer this to vista any day:D

I believe you have to get rid of the launcher to use the windowed mode.

There's a tutorial on Sims2Wiki that will explain how to do that:

After you do that, just add the -W and it should work fine. =)

I didnt understand at all. Im so clueless but I replaced the launcher thing with the Sims2EP8.exe

and it worked!!! Was that something with xp??
because the launcher always worked in vista for me!!

My sims are gone!! But i saved them and put them back

Hm, that's weird. I don't know what would've caused that. That didn't happen to me when I did it. Hm...Luckily you had them backed up though...

I really don't have a clue why that happened. Sorry, I can't be of more help!

Are you sure you didn't accidentally remove your SavedSims folder for whatever random reason? That's where your created Sims are stored.

Wow...everyone helps so fast here...i love it and appreciate it so much....

I dont know what happened...Its the neighbourhood one I save with all my families...anyway I copied that into the folder...and played and it didnt work...

But I recopied it...jsut to be sure and it worked....

Im loading up my uni with my 3 hot sister sims who study there...and its taking an awfully long timme to loaddd and i want to see if someone is still there to extract her from game

Nah, Sims is too time consuming and actually I'm going through a phase where I'm kind of bored of it. I do that sometimes.

...as for your neighborhood problem, you didn't rename the folder or files did you? That'll cause it not to load.

Ohhhh that is torture.....Im so lame today I put xp on the pc got rid of vista *shakes fist* and my net wouldnt work for 8 hours..

I was like NOOOOOO ....then im thinking omg get a life..but then im like uhhh no!

It must have been my stupid brain...no renaming...Maybe I didnt replace them correctly but I just re did it and everyone is there which is great.....

I am very impatient at solving problems.  but hey i got plenty of time

Okay I have another slight issue.

I extracted a sim using simpe right....then went to open bodyshop and now it keeps crashing....and uhh it shouldnt because i just installed the whole game!!!
and i took the extracted sim out and it still isnt working....
from my most recent game too!!!
