Robot Crafting Table

I used to be able to put any of my sims working at the Robot Crafting table and start making the little misc robots (cleaner, etc), but now I put a crafting table on any type of lot, and I get nothing...it comes up to make one or make many but the sim stands there dumb founded......now if I put one of the other crafting tables in.....toy or flowers....my sim can work on it......what is my problem???  Can anyone help??
