Hi everyone. The title pretty much says it all. I am unable to click and direct a sim to use any object or move anywhere. I've tried different lots and different sims. As hacks go I have Insim and Squinges clothing hack, and that's it. Other downloads include a couple of skin tones, eyes, that sort of thing. I don't have any downloads I have never had on my other computer. (This is an install on a second computer, strictly for Victorian and Medieval sims).

I was wondering if anyone else has had an experience with this problem. I'm checking the lots I installed to make sure that there was no sneaky little hack that snuck on but I'm not finding anything.

Any help you can offer would be fantastic.

I have the exact same problem you should see my post lol. I hope Ive cured it now I did a system restore, they I moved alllll my CC out into a new folder and put back just some of it and deleted the rest, i think for me it was a CC conflict, I also restored all original neighbourhoods. got rid of insim and downloaded sim blender instead.

I only have a small amount of CC since I am only using Sims on this computer for the Victorian/ Medieval stuff. Go figure I would have issues with my new install, not my old one. I think I am going to follow your lead and grab sim blender and see how that goes.

It might not be Insim but ive been quite worried about the fact that its unsupported now an having sim blender which IS supported makes me feel better really. They appear to do the same thing more or less.
Its nice to know I wasnt alone in sims freezing in time lol.

Aargh. Removing every single hack and running the Paladin hack conflict decector does not seem to have helped. It looks like I'll be uninstalling and reinstalling. Who knows. It might work.

I've had the Insimenator do this in my game when it was not the correct version for my EP.

Also, since it's a new install, did you install it in the order the EP's were released? Sometimes that can cause strange things to happen in the game if you install them out of order.

Yes, I did install in the order of release. I've had that problem before.

I'm going to try uninstalling and installing again. I've taken all of the CC out and it's still not running right so obviously something is up.

Who'd have thunk that the minimal CC game would have problems, rather than my overloaded with everything game.

Well, thanks for all the help fellows, I'll reinstall in the morning since I have to work in the in a few hours.

Could you not do what I did? by just restoring the neighbourhoods? through the ts2 data thing? That helped me, mine was still doing it too until i removed all my downloads did that then re-put what downloads I wanted and what had worked before. Wink

It's already uninstalled so not a big deal. I had only managed to make test sims anyway so it's not like I lost anything. CC is in a separate folder, obviously. I realized I work later than I do so I'm reinstalling now.

Unfortunately, nothing I have done is working. I have now reinstalled twice and have no CC at all and still I cannot interact with my sims. I can't use boolprop because that requires clicking on my sim and as I may have already made clear, I can't click on anything in their pie menus.

I'm at a loss for what to do.

Are you using a custom user startup file or anything like that?

This last time that you re-installed it did you delete or move the files and folders under my documents\ea? The same area where the download folder is. Then start the game? I use Windows XP so that's where they are for me.

Also, as you were installing each EP did you run the patch for it before installing the next EP?

Sorry to be so general but this problem is one that just makes you scratch your head and say hmmm.

I managed to fix the problem. It had nothing to do with Sims at all, apparently. I installed a new driver for my mouse and voila, all is good. This is really stupid.

But I am glad it's all done.

You know, I almost suggested a mouse problem but I just figured your mouse had to be working or you would not have been able to install at all.

Glad that it's working for you now.   Grin

Stupid thing stopped working again. Dell is sending me a new mouse and key board. I love warranties.

Anyway, I hope to get back to simming soon Cheesy

Thanks for all the suggestions.
