AVOID ISA.net, possible danger to your computers!

It wasn't really me who installed Norton... That's how it goes when I ask somebody else to set up the computer...

I've tried Avast once before, and was quite happy with that, despite it being quite annoying once in a while. I'm doing some research about the antivirus programmes, to see which ones are the best, and Avast seems to be one of the best free programmes. I'm considering changing back to it, in fact

It's not as annoying as a broken computer. 
The constant anti-virus updates popping up do get annoying, but I guess constant updates is a good thing.

I've never had that happen with ISA either, but I think I know what roerzman is talking about. If its the same thing, it happened to me cause of a torrent site I went to. It popped up while I was on that torrent site. Says it was scanning my pc and such. I just cancelled it and left the site. Maybe it follows you around. I've had it pop up on me on another site I never had trouble with before.

I suspect the old site (.net) or google chrome led to the virus, not ISA. Avast would have blocked that for accessing your computer, though.

It has kept me virus free for well over a year, get it quick.

From what I understand, once that popup is seen the first time, it's got hold of your computer and will not let go, no matter how quickly you leave the site it popped up on. Root it out NOW if it still tries to follow you around and save yourself some hassle. Good luck.

It doesn't affect me. Course I use Flock as my default browser, with AdBlock to boot, plus 7 antispyware measures. No popups, no infiltration.

That's probably how I got hacked into.  I knew I hated torrent sites for a reason. Guess I'll go back to hating them. LoL. I've always been careful about the sites I go to. Only time I'd venture into unchartered waters was if I was image searching, aside from my recent tour on the torrent site. But it really didn't start until I went to that torrent site. I will start looking into that problem now since I dont need it to get any worse. LoL.

Yeah, Flock is my browser of choice and I've got AdBlock Plus, myself and not had a bit of trouble. Of course, I also run paid AVG and it will tell me if a link is a BAD THING so of course, I pay attention. Of course, there are just some sites I avoid from sheer principal, as well.

That's rediculious! sim's sites don't have viruses. You got that from somewhere else. If you are going to ISA, then you are probably going to porn sites, and those are well known to carry viruses.

Wow, I've learned about so many new web browsers from this thread...Flock? Opera? LOL I thought I was ahead of the current because I had Google Chrome

It was the .net site that gave me the problem. I don't play the game very much any more so one looses touch with what is what. I run Avira with Zonealarm as a firewall and Spybot to sort out what's left. Normally if a site is dirty Avira will have a fit but this little beast just came on in and as said, once it starts there's no stopping it.
Once it has your pc. your desktop is replaced by a blue screen and all quick launch icons are gone. Every attempt to remove the thing just results in the Blue screen of death, booting into the safe mode also doesn't work.
I suspect the origins of this thing are somewhere in Facebook because for some time now I keep getting a little thing called ADSPY which is easily dealt with, but I suspect it is the key that Security Tool used to access my pc.
My warning is that Security Tool is very difficult to be detected by the mainstream antivirus programs because it isn't a virus as such. For a more detailed explanation on the horrors about this thing I recommend those with concerns look it up on the net, it's quite frightening.
And no, you don't need to go into porn or bittorrent sites to pick this thing up,it masks itself as one of the dozens of malware/spyware tools on the net.
