It's taken me awhile to figure out what exactly to do with those pesky runaway teens! I know a lot of Simmers here have the same issue... can't find the hack to keep them at home! So, I added my own cheat for you in case no one else has here.

Try this: Save-a-Sim. For anyone who's not familiar with this concept, follow the below instructions:

When your Sim teen announces she's going to run away, hit Shift/Control-C. Write in the following cheat "move_objects on"

Switch over to Furniture. Grab a hold of the "runaway" teen.

Delete the teen.

Switch over to Neighborhood. And yes, you're going to want to SAVE!

Come back to the lot and your teen is a brand new Sim. Fully happy and all their needs are met! Rock

Happy Simming!

You can also keep them happy by upping the aspiration level and motives once in a while. And keep relations on a green level. A little less chance of bugginess that way...

I think I had a teen runaway once, a very long time ago. The only way they will run away is if they have a number of bad relationships with family members at the house they live in. Aspiration level doesn't matter, low teen aspiration just causes bin kicking, painting destroying and flower stomping. Run away teens should not be a constant problem unless you are actively making them hate their family.

Ah, well... Been a long time since I had a teen run away. But it's been a very long while since I actually played (as in not story related).

My problem is sometimes I get overly focused in other tasks, then, I remember... "Oh crikey! I've got a moody teen in this house!" By then, it's too late.
