Best way I've found so far is to use the scan folder feature in SimPE, it has a section in it where you can add/change what categories clothing appears in.

leads me to ask, what states of dress do all of your outfits go to?  are they in all categories, just everyday, or does each outfit appear in appropriate categories, such as suits in everyday and/or formal, this outfit as underwear/athletic, etc?
