Where to begin, I started making the house from Onegai Twins, an anime, semi-sequel to Onegai Teacher. (Onegai = Please) although I was not able to get it to come out the way I wanted (stairwell and a few other things) and I added a basement (because I like them) I still think it came out fairly cool.
Some of the plants pictured are not included because I am noste sure where I got them exactly, probably from MtS2...
I origonaly had it decorated with some alternate wooden flooring and walls (most of witch came from PeggySims) but I didn't want to include tihngs I didn't make. I did include some of the walls and one floor that I made for the http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=23608">Tendou Dojo
http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=23608

I have all of the expantions and suplements so you may as well need them for it to work. I used Clean Installer to remove the few things that still got stuck in the file so hopefully it ill work fine. I have also checked each items I can tihnk of to make sure it was supposedly compatable with base game, I hope I checked them all.

If you haven't already been I can't recomend http://www.peggysims2.net/index.htm">PeggySims2  enough.
In my first arangement of this house I had used alot of the wooden floor and wall covers form her site and she has some great hair and other tihngs.
You can see some of them in the 5th picture and the last one is a closeup of the floor I liked.

The main character drove a scooter bike so i was going to use a motercycle i found on mts2 but its better to wait untill the sims wants one to buy a vehical anyway, same with things like shower, toilet, etc so I left it mostly empty other than the hot tub in the bath room, because they share a bath in alot of these anime's I use the hot tub to represent that and usualy include  the open shower that came with Uni. but again I was attempting to make it useable by as many people as possible, I figured you could add what you wanted. oh well enough of my rambleing, here are the pictures...
I hope you enjoy

oh and it costs about $44,000, not quite a starter home, but not a mansion either, with a good bit of room to improve if you feel like it. and as is its got alot of room, intended to have 2 bedroom, 1 office, bathroom, kitchen, livingroom and den + basement, but it can work sevral difrent ways.
I should also mention I origonaly used the ascention stairs, I removed them also incase you didnt want them. I personaly love them, but they are kind of cheeting.

as it is I forgot to replace the stairs when I took them out
the ladder is a good one too...
