pets hacks for earlier versions

I may be doubleposting here but didn´t find any post when I looked =/

I am wondering if the PETS hacks work with only pets or earlier versions as well.

and if there may be errors and/or trouble if I put a PETS hack in a Sims2 that only got expansions up to Open for Business.

All of my pets mods require the pets EP to work.
