whats the best graphics card? i have a wack as intel 82865G graphics controller with 96.00MB also is there a good one under 150 because i want to convince my mom when we buy seasons so she can buy them at the same time oh and i have windows xp!

Are you talking american dollars? Under 100? I haven't seen one that'll do you any good. Your card has 96 megs? Is that a typo??? Half a GIG is the absolute minimum you want at this point...2 gigs is better....

Mule thats physical memory you're talking about not graphics memory

ash557 make sure that your card isn't integrated. If it is then you can't change it. Try updating your driver to the accelerated driver.

no it's not a typo heres what it said in full 96.00mb [100,663,296 bytes] why is that to much? and how do i make sure if it is or not?

you're gonna have a hard time finding a card that is any good for under a hundred dollars

If you have an intel its most likely integrated. Go to Intel's site and look up your graphic card or even your computer model and it will tell you if its integrated or not.

The best card you are likely to get for 150 is a geforce 7600, but those really aren't that great

If you have an extra slot you can add a card and switch the settings to it. For now though I would at least grab the latest driver from Intel's site

Ash,Perhaps a manual that came with your computer would be a good place to look. Or go the manufacturers web site to look up information on your model. Or find out which motherboard you have and look for mobo specs at that manufacturers web site.

One piece of advice; educate yourself on your system, it' specifications, and on video cards. If you do not some quick talking salesman will sell you "something", and that "something" may not be what you need or want. I reccomend you spend some time in Beosboxboys articles in the stickies section. In knowledge is power, and also safety. Good luck, and good simming!
