how do I get a job for my pet?

I know this sounds stupid, but I do not get the option to find a pet job either in the paper or the computer so I can only deduct that either I am missing some crucial step or I have messed up something somehow. So, how does one get one's pet a job? I looked through the forum but did not see this addressed, so either it is just my ignorance or I somehow missed a post about it. Thank you for any help.

Clicking on the paper or computer, you should get the option to "find a pet job for ...". That is, if you have a pet of course. If you don't have a pet, the option doesn't come up.

I get that part, I have cats and have done this with the paper and the computer, but no option to find a pet job. So either my pets are fake pets (?) or I have missed a step somewhere.  thanks for your idea, though. it makes sense but just isn't the answer for this dilemma.

and also u might have to have OFB for ur pet to have a job

I have tried no phone, no option for that on the phone either. I have base game, University, Night Life, Open for Business, Glamour stuff and Seasons. Thank you for your suggestions.

I have removed mods, insiminator and basically everything I can think of and still no option to get a job for my pet. I have trained them fully and so they are very good pets, but I cannot get the job option. Anyone have any other ideas?  I am willing to try anything at this point. Thank you.

It must be some weird glitch, for me, the option to get a pet job only appears in the paper,it is not available on the computer...

I've found that getting jobs for your pets can only be done with Maxis computers and not the custom ones. As for that option not appearing when you click on the newspaper, well, you've lost me there I'm afraid...

yes, I use only the maxis computer and it doesn't appear there either. I can only believe it must be a hack of some sort that I cannot find and the conflict utility doesn't care about. well, thanks for your input.
