Can't Find uploaded stuff on game

I have been playing sims 2 for a while now but i have just began to try and upload things on the game. I have first downloaded some female hair and i did everything it said to upload it, but it just simply made a file on my desktop that i can not open. Can someone help figure out where to find these things on the game? Thank you!

is it a zip file? if so you need to use the sims2 file maid or winzip to get the file into your download file, if it is a rar file use the correct program or sims2 file maid

What is the download file and where is it? is it just the file i have now from downloading it?

To use custom content you need to create a new Downloads folder here:
MyDocuments/EAGames/TheSims2.  Make sure you use a capital "D".  Any zipped files will need to be unzipped first.

where is the body shop? i got all this things into my download folder, now what do i do? where is body shop and what do i do there?
