Chapter 2"I guess you can say that not much out of the ordinary happened we lived our days on a day to day basis. Everything was normal until that Thursday night."
"How was your day at work Scott?" Kelly asked
"Pretty slow, I had a meeting in the morning and then just a lot of paperwork." He said. Scott worked for a big software company and was working his way up to a corporate position. He had been there for 5 years now and so far none of the "big wigs" seemed to notice him.
"Well I'm glad you had a good day. I tried to do some writing today but nothing seems to be clicking with my mind right now." Kelly said. She was an aspiring writer who was trying hard to get her first book published. She had many short stories but nothing with just her name on it yet.
"I'm sure it will come to you soon, it always seems to hit you when you least expect it." Scott said smiling.

They continued to go back and forth like that for a few minutes when the phone rang. "Now who could be calling at this hour, its dinner time for christs sakes." Scott said. Kelly set her fork down and went to answer the phone. She knew how Scott was and if anyone called the house after 8 someone better be dying or he wasn't happy.
"Hello" Kelly said in her phone voice that she was so good at using.
Scott couldnt make out exactly what was being said on the other line but from Kelly's ear to ear grin that it had to have been something good. Scott watched as Kelly scrambled around in drawers for a pad of paper and pen and start scribbling something down. From what he heard he figured it was just something for her book. Probably just more figures for costs and such. The conversation was winding down after about 5 minutes of Kelly's note taking and to be honest Scott was getting anxious to hear what was going on.
Finally after what felt like the longest phone conversation ever Kelly came back to the table. She sat down and picked up her fork again and pushed her peas around on the plate.

"Ok tell me what is going on please." Said Scott.
Kelly looked up at him and beamed a huge smile.
"That was Jennifer Welso, seems that there is a woman in North Korea just dropped off her little girl at an orphanage and Jennifer wants us to come by and look at the profile tomorrow." Kelly said
"Oh Kel thats awesome sweety. Did she say how long it would take and everything." Scott asked
"Nothing other than the little girl is one week old and seems to be in good health. She said that we have to go and look at the profile tomorrow at 1pm and then from there we take a few days to decided if we want her or not." Kelly looked at her plate then looked up at Scott who was quiet.
"Scott something about this little girl just feels right and I haven't even seen her yet. I hate the thought of going there and saying I don't want her. Of course I want her. She is a baby and I want a baby." Kelly said almost in tears.
Scott stood up and took Kelly by the hand down the hall to the Nursery that the hadn't touched since they lost Alexis. Scott opened up the door and they took a few steps inside the room and just stood there for a few moment. Scott turned to Kelly and said.
"There are no if ands or buts, that little girl is our baby."
