For about one or two days now, Bodyshop hasn't been able to run and I get an error message whenever I try to install Sims from WinRAR and Sims2Pack packages. I saw in the Task Manager "Processes" that there were several TS2Bodyshop processes running, but nothing showed up. I ended the processes, and it still won't work! I wonder if I screwed something up. I always do, anyway.

Sarah, there are two things I can suggest. First try deleting your Cigen file. it is located in your My Documents/*your user name*/EAGames/Sims2 folder. It is safe to delete this file and it will regenerate the next time you load Bodyshop. Many times this file becomes corrupt. As for downloading sims get Sims2Pack Clean Installer from here . I open the file using winRAR and then I double click on the file name and Clean installer opens up and installs the sim. I hope this helps.:rabbit:

To go along with what trl suggests, kill all the TS2Bodyshop processes that are running.  There should only be one instance running at a time.  Those you have are in many cases ghost processes that are tying up resources.

I can't find the Cigen folder! And I already have Clean Installer.

And ancienthighway, I already tried to kill the Bodyshop processes.

Wait...I think I found the Cigen file. DAMN IT! It's not a folder! I don't know why I thought it was a folder...

EDIT: Deleting the Cigen file didn't work!!!

Try deleting all the packages in the thumbnails folder too, and if you've been using the compressorzier try deleting groups.cache too. Bodyshop wouldn't run for me last night but did after I deleted all those.

Since you've already deleted cigen.package, groups.cache, and the various thumbnails packages, the only other suggestion I can make is to ensure you are running the proper version of Bodyshop.  Each EP releases an undated version.  If you're running from a shortcut, the shortcut may not have been modified to point to the correct version of Bodyshop.

Edit:  Another problem you may be having is with meshes.  If you've got a mesh that requires an EP or SP you don't have, or is a bad mesh in and of itself, it may or may not stop Bodyshop from running.  I've got a sticky post on the InTeen site under Sims 2 Technical Help that will help you find problem meshes.  I haven't tried it yet, but Delphy's Download Organizer may help too.

Oh wow. The weird thing is that when I was looking for that error message again when I was "attempting" to install a Sim, the error message was gone and the Sims 2 Body Shop Installer was working! Now I'm, testing Bodyshop...This is just so bizarre.
