Downloaded things wont show.

So I fixed my Laptop and got sims 2 back up and running. My lapop doesnt have internet though so I disconnected my home computers internet and hooked it up to mine so I could download some things. I downloaded eye colors and some hair things. They were rar files so I downloaded the program so I could open them. I did everything it said, downloaded it into the downloads folders for sims 2. It doesnt show on my sims though. Nothing for the eye color, but the hair names will show up but they are all black. Any ideas?

I would double check that you got the mesh, or that it doesn't require you to have an ep you might be missing.
