The Sims 2 keeps crashing!

When I try to load up the Sims 2, around the time is get's to "Stablizing Payloads" it crashes. I even tried uninstalling it and re-installing it. And before, when it was working yesturday, a red pentagon shape appeared behind my family's photo whenever it was shown. WTF?

I had that touble with crashing i look though my downloads folder be for that happen and i look for anything that it could be you could try that

do you have the min requirements for the game, have you downloaded anything recently . before i got my new computer i was having the same problem.. it kept freezing on me when it got to something brakes or something..

try taking downloads out

Katze, most likey it maybe somthing you downloaded. Try running the game without any downloads in, meaning no hacks or custom content.
