Unlockables?

hey! this may be a really dumb question, but i'm new to the PC version of the sims, so here goes:

in the sims life stories, can you unlock extra stuff (hair, clothes, objects, etc) by playing through story mode, or is everything available initially?

This is the wrong place for this question (you're in the story section). It should be in Sims Life Stories Help, which can be found in The General Help section. Perhaps a mod will move this there for you so the people who can help you will see it.

All hair and clothing are available initially-the special objects are the only things that are unlocked.  I have found a lot of Sims 2 base game compatable clothing and hair that work in this game.  I forgot how hideous the base game selection is.
