I sent my family on vacation, they are stuck in a netherworld between home and twikki

Hi I have this problem also but whenever I try to move the family in with someone who is best friends with one of the family it tells me that I can't move the family in before I return them to their home from holidays.
I can't move the family out of their house, move their lot into the bin or move them in with someone else...I've run out of ideas! And I've worked so hard with this family....
Does anyone else know of a way to get them back?

May be you pass the 8 sims (max number of sims in a lot), when you try to move in the stucked family, that's why you receive that message.
Choose a single sim living in any lot, summon one of the stucked family with Inge's Teleporter bush - http://simlogical.com/sl/Sims2Pages/Sims2.htm
(scroll to "Moving"); befriend the sim with the Insim, and propose to move him in. Add his family. It should work.
Don't forget to sell the vacation home they have.

No need to mess around with any of those things with deleting houses, and etc... just go to a friends house, call your sims to come to their house, then kill your sims, I just use the boolprop testingcheatsenabled true, then go to their needs and drag them all down so they all turn red, I just repeated, and they end up dying, save the game, go out to the neighborhood, and you'll see your house is for sale... then just go back in and recreate your sims again and move them back into their house.. simple as that!

that happend to me. I can't fix it at all. My sims were on their honeymoon, and I ended it early. The female sim went back to her old house. The other is stuck, unable to check in or go home what should I do?

You can maybe use this situation for a story, lol sorry I stop. :D
Have you try to play with the wife and to use the "restore family" option of the Insimenator ? ;)
