Hello everyone!
My first post in this forum and it had to be this one. *sigh*

I have a big problem with my game.
When I go into CAS all my sims (the ones that I make and the ones that I've got) are blurry. Everything on it, hair, makeup, clothes etc. are blurry to.
But when I move my sims that I've created in CAS into a house, the house and all the things in it/around it/above it/under it/whatever are all fine, the only thing that's blurry are my sims.
I've got the highest settings in graphics and the game have worked fine until now. (I've triple checked it)
My graphics card is an ATI radeon X1950 GT, bought in October -07. I've got the newest drivers there is (that I know of and can download with Catalyst Control Center).
I bought my computer in October so it's not the crappiest thing on earth. I run it with a licensed Windows Vista (if it matters..?)
I don't have an illegal game, I've spent my hard earned money on it. Wink
I tried to take out my dl-folder but it didn't help at all.
It's only just the sims themselves that look goofy. And that makes me think that there's something other than my g-card messing with me.

This is what I've done so far:
* Vacuumed the computer from dust (not the inside, but the outside fan's)
* Deleted the BV-bug file in my dl-folder
* Uninstalled/reinstalled/installed and messed with my graphics card. (I downloaded the drivers that I've already got, but I didn't know it until later)
* Moved my dl-folder out (didn't help at all)
* Doubled checked and triple checked that my settings ingame are on max (they were).
* Scanned my dl-folder for new content that could have been messing with my game (removed one hack, but that wasn't it)
* Whined about my game everywhere and to everyone. Wink

The reason I installed my "new" drivers was because another game wouldn't start on my b-friends login, but it did start on my login.
On his login it said something about the graphics card not being there.. Can't remember exactly. So that's why I installed the "new" drivers. That wasn't even new.
The problem is that I don't know if Sims was doing this before or after I reinstalled. And now I haven't had the time to reinstall the other game (because I uninstalled it)
Gaah, long story.

I have all xp's and every pack(? H&M, Glamour etc.) there is.

Should I reinstall the whole game? Or do you have any other suggestions??

I'm going crazy!

I'm sorry if my english is bad, it's not my native language.

Thank you in advance!

I've had this happen too... I have heard that it sometimes happens when you have to many objects on a lot.. That doesn't explain the cas screen though... After mucking around with my graphics settings a bit I found that on the highest texture setting my sims are blurry and my objects look great but if I set textures to medium... My sims come back to normal and I loose a little bit of quality on the objects... not hugely noticable though. I can live with them...:-P

Don't change any of your other setting from the highest level, just your textures and see what happens... Obviously it's a 3d card issue... But I have found that the quality with textures on medium is still good so I'm not going out to buy a new one..

Did you try to update your graphics drivers? That sometimes happens to me, and once I update them the game is fine again.

If you don't know what to do, read through the wiki articles I've linked... hope this helped! Cheesy

Yep, tried that. The biggest problem is that I've already got the newest drivers. Sad (and I have reinstalled them to, just to make sure)

I tried what rupertcanada & Me2 told me, didn't work.

So now I'm uninstalling and then I'm going to reinstall. If that doesn't work either I'm just going to lay myself on the floor and start to cry. Haha..

Make sure to back up for sims2 folder first! That way, you can reinstall and have everything right, and just pick up where you left off! Cheesy

Lol, no probs. Just thought I'd remind you, because I did that before and lost all of my families. It's not nice when that happens. :|

That's true. Cheesy I usually forget those things. Wink
Ah, I don't care as much for my families as for my CC. So I just backuped my DL-folder and my cameras, and something else that I can't remember right now. So my families are all gone. Had to much of them anyway. Wink

LOl, I know how that feels. I'm going to start a custom hood all over again soon, or kill off the families I don't play. I love making sims, taking photos and not playing them a bit too much :/

Sounds exactly like me. Wink
I haven't actually PLAYED sims in months.. but I've entered contests, taken photos, looked at my cc etc. *lol*
Sims is a great game, you don't actually have to play it. Haha

I've figured out the problem now.
My settings on the g-card wasn't on maximum so I just changed them.
They were probably "defaulted" when I reinstalled the drivers. So now I finally got my game working. *wiee*
