I wasn't sure where exactly to post this, but hopefully someone can help me..

I just got a new laptop, it's a dell inspiron 1525 and I have windows vista home premium.

I try to install the sims 2, and I get to the second disc, and I get an error message everytime. The message is:

"A problem occured when trying to transfer the file 'TSData\Res\Sound\Voice6.package"

I read on the EA games website to try turning off my firewall, so I did. Didn't work. The graphics card I have is an Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 and for RAM I have 3062 MB.

Someone help! I need my sims!

Did you try cleaning your disc off?

'Kay, I had the same problem but with disk one. What I had to do eventually was copy all the files to the hard drive and then go from there. I don't know if it will let you do it that way or not, it took forever. One thing that helped was browsing to the cd/dvd drive and right clicking on the sims 2 disk and choosing run as administrator. Hope that helps some.

It might be your graphics card........I'm not really sure.

Or, your CD/DVD has a problem reading a sector on the disc.

I am not an expert, but since your problem is loading a sound part to the game, check your audio info. Like is it an on board (part of the motherboard) sound/audio bit, or do you have a sound card. I would look into a sound card for more power, the on board tends to suck. That's my opinion. Cheesy

What I did was, copied his error message and did a search with, Google.

Most of the hits I got was, related to the graphics card.

A few people tried and tried and finally got the game installed.

The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator is an onboard graphics card and onboard graphics cards are not recommended for the Sims 2 or supported. Your other computer probably has a stand-alone grahics card.
