Go to my computer, open the drive and look for a launch icon, it should say something like autorun, or autoinstall, or setup, or some such. Double-click that and it should take off.

AL comes only on a DVD.  The specs you've given for your computer lead me to believe you've got a CD drive, not a DVD drive.

If freetime works then its not that your computer doesnt have a dvd drive as all my expansion packs are only dvd compatible.

Can you play dvd's on your computer ok ? If so your then your fine.

Insert your dvd - Open up start menu and  click on computer - you should have hard disk drive/drives and also a DVD drive (mine is E) - a little sims icon should be visable and if so double click it and hopefully it should launch.

Fingers crossed

I tried it and it didnt play the DVD. And I only have a A: & D: drive in the My Computer option. But the system requirements are the same as free time and yet freetime works fine and al is being a pain in my @$$!!!! But I guess now I need a DVD drive?!?

Yes, if you don't have one, that is the problem.
