I noticed that lately my game takes ages to start, could it be because of my cc collection?

Custom Content slows the game down very, very much.

If, you got a lot of memory and a great video card with alot of memory, you shouldn't have a problem. High poly counts slow a game down too.

Well, it really depends on your computer specs. I have 5 GB of CC and more than 25 000 files, and my game runs fine (and while I play, I have Photoshop and IE on). And my RAM is only 1 GB.

I've got around 6GB of stuff right now, all EP/SP up to FT, only 512MB RAM and only 19 GB left on the harddrive. my game is moving SLOW. (and takes almost half an hour to start)

On the other hand, I've tried to play with all up to BV, around 11-12GB downloads and the same laptop - and it took around 1 1/2 hour to start...

so it all comes down to how good your computer is, and how much it can handle.

... and how much YOU can handle, of course.
