Program has crashed,it has to terminate!?Whats This?

Someone please help me! I just installed the sims 2 only and downloaded some stuff. There was no downloads folder so i created one, put my files in there now everytime i start the sims 2 it says it needs to terminate...Can someone help me? :sad4:

Is your folder spelled like this: Downloads
Did you download stuff for your game that wasn't compatible with your EP's

im not so sure. i tried looking for a file but how do i tell if it doesnt belong with my game? i try to download sims2 only files.

The file has to end in .package

Only package files should be in your Downloads folder. Nothing else.

yup, everything is a .package file...would a picture of a sim hair file be the problem?

Take it out and see if it loads.

i have taken the files out, loaded sims2 and it crashed and terminated again.i only have the sims 2 but i do have a bunch of downloads. Its not viruses because i've scanned them all.any other tips?

Just inside your Sims 2 folder, look for a groups.cache file.

Delete that. The game makes a new one when you start it up. Also, delete all the files inside your Thumbnails folder. The game makes new ones also.

Also, did you download and install the patch?

It's the first one. Make sure you pick the right one. CD or DVD.
