Okay I downloaded cyclonesues's Hydri-Sphere lot and he somehow used transparent tiles to create the illusion of a roof for the home and I moved my alien in and the first thing that happened was it started hailing in summer? and she kept getting pelted by hail..and I can't remove the tiles to create a different roof or even put a roof on the top so everytime it rains or hails my sim sits there and whines because shes getting wet or pelted and she keeps getting the 'theres weather inside my house!' thought and theres really nothing I can do about it since this lot was created in 2006 2 years before Seasons came out so I was looking at some of the comments in his other lot which was created after the Hydri-Sphere called The TOMMORROW Complex and one of the members had this comment

So heres my question, what the heck is the weather controller I've never seen this in any of the game options or is this some kind of hack because I would love to stop it from Raining and storming all the time that seems like the only weather that really puts a strain on my game because it goes so sloooww when it rains thanks for helping I was just curious as to where I could go to get this controller


*EDIT* I actually found the controller over at SimsWardrobe by looking at some of the recent topics by typing in Weather Controller in the search bar on the home page and I downloaded it but noticed that Paladin didn't add an option for it to be Sunny when you change the weather and I was also wondering if by turning off the weather all together which I will probably do to give my graphics card a rest would this corrupt my game? Paladin said there would be no problems if you just click reset weather it will go back to Maxis defaults but I'm still un-sure because this is a global hack

I  just thought I would share my scare with you all today so please don't let this thread go un-noticed and please heed my warning when I tell you to STAY AWAY from this praticular lot over at TSR

I was looking for a sweet alien home for my alien/vampire hybrid Naria and I didn't see anything that really grabbed my attention at MTS2 so I thought I would give TSR a shot and I found and downloaded this lot..

I was at first thinking woah what a neat lot so I put it in my downloads and was pretty physced to furnish it for my sims but then I noticed the problem almost immediatley after putting that in, first my game took almost 15 minutes for the opening movie to come up and play and froze and skipped almost all the way through which I thought was weird but I didn't think anything about it, and THEN I went into the lot and prepared to furnish it I noticed straight away that some of the furnishing that I KNOW I had the EP for was blue so I was thinking okay maybe it was a bad recolor or something so I went to start putting stuff in and thats when it hit me..NONE of my objects had any recolor options!! not even objects associated with game EP's such as the barstools in BV to the Club Distress Sofas in the Base Game! I was shocked to find out that even after exiting the lot knowing then that the lot had some kind of really bad hack attached to it that Clean Installer DID NOT pick up I went to an empty lot which took another additional 20 minutes to open just a blank template and found that the problem presists so I knew it was more than likely that lot so I went out and deleted it from my folder and out of my recycle bin and went back in the game and everything seemed to be back to normal so what I am trying to say is PLEASE don't download that lot especially if your like me and download gobs and gobs of stuff at one time and copy and paste like 30 items into your downloads folder I think I just got lucky thinking it could be that lot because I downloaded a bunch of hacks and everything last night..

I was reading a post over at MTS2 and why is it that you cannot buy any of the witches furniture is it because you have to be a witch? I mean do you get some kind of new collections folder when you turn into one because I saw some buyable witch lighting over at MTS2 and the creator said he extracted them out of the game along with a witches thrown and cauldron? where does this stuff show up because I look through all my folders and didn't see anything even remotley close to being classified as 'witchy' just thought I would ask because I want to play a witch as soon as I can get a nice home for her thanks for reading

Hey all I noticed yesterday morning that my SimPE was only compatible up to free-time and not compatible with M&G Or AL so I went to SimPE's official site to upgrade to SimPE .072 okay so I let it download, install and all that and while it was doing that it un-installed my older edition which was .068 okay this is where I am confused I read the read-me that came with the application and I know for a fact that I have all other extra programs and applications that are needed to execute SimPE ie. Microsoft FrameWork Utilites and the NVidia Utilites what ever there called I have them but this SimPE absolutley refuses to open it will pop up the little banner saying the version name and the SimPE ... Building your world logo but as far as that the program just sits there and sits there without EVER opening and the logo won't go off the screen and I can't ctrl alt and delete to close it out because windows doesn't recongnize it as an open application because its 'starting up' but anyway I have to completley shut down my computer for the stupid thing to go off the screen UGGGHHH!! I had to restart it like 5 times and then decided to just delete it..does anyone else know of this issue or what I could do? thanks for helping and letting me vent


I think I have found the problem with it not opening and I have included a screenshot of the error..okay as you can see in initial SimPE setup the top three check boxes that say Core Components, SimPE and Basic Plugins, PLJones SimAntics Editor are not selected as check marked and those three are actually in harddrive mode meaning there is NO way to even check or uncheck them I deleted that copy and tried another installation but this time even after removing simPE and all components from my computer when I try to download it, the file acts as if the memory of the install in still in the computer somewhere because a download bar goes across really quickly like it has already downloaded 7MB of information in like 5 seconds.. PFT not on my connection it didn't anyway I really need someones help because I tried posting in the SimPE help forums  on the site but Inge has closed all threads for some reason as there is no 'post new reply' section..I'm at a loss on what to do because I tried several different mirror sites and still the problem persists so I don't know how I would get a copy with the main plug-ins installed because that is obviously the problem right??

Has anyone been over at MTS2 lately or perhaps tonight or earlier today because I was just there a second ago and browsing the newest uploads and a box popped up asking a stupid question with a multiple choice answer and you HAVE to answer it or you can't continue into the website, I answered one and about a minute or two later another popped up that I had no clue what the answer was to it...anyone know what the hell I'm on about?

Hey Guys I've been 21 For About An Hour Woo-Hoo Just Thought I Would Share!!

Like the title says, I was wondering if I could move my sims in the downtown locations in NightLife? like when the game asks you to make a downtown can you place residential lots in 'Downtown' and have your sim live there and visit community lots while they are living there? I was just wondering about this thanks for helping me out

Make me a city type neighborhood with skyscrapers, and NewYork style apartments or maybe like how plasticbox builds her rowhouses and backdoorlanes over at MTS2? here is an example of the type of residential lots I would like the neighborhood to have http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=311672 I love that building but I would love to have a whole neighborhood with lots like are similar to that one, like city lofts and such I don't mind if you exclude any Community lots as I am pretty good at making those, just not residential ones as I am clueless on building lots like PB does, or if someone doesn't have the time right now, would you help me in finding a neighborhood like I need? I would download ALL of PB Backdoorlane lots but my download speed is unbelievably sloow and it would take days perhaps weeks, but if someone could build me this type of neighborhood I would really appreciate it thanks for reading my request...

P.S. I tried going to a link to a 'New York' type neighborhood but MTS2 must have deleted the thread or something because it says its invalid

I decided to download plasticbox's elsewhere hood over at MTS2, and I was wondering if there was a way that I can populate the hood with random sims, I know that you can type in boolprop testingcheatsenabled true then click on the mailbox and generate townies but I was wondering where those townies go? I mean would I have to make a bunch of random sims to move into the houses or could I generate townies and have them show up in the family bin to move into this otherwise empty town?  I also understand that the game will automatically generate townies whenever you make a new buisness or community lot that needs NPC 'employees' but I am just kind of stumped on how to make townies and down-townies for custom hoods, any kind of help would be great thanks for reading and sorry if I sound like a n00b...

So I was in my local gamestop last night buying a PS3 finally!! I turn 21 next weekend so its my early birthday present from my boyfriend but anyway I asked the cashier if Sims 3 will be out for the PS3 and he said that EA hasn't released any information like that BUT I read on gamespot.com that TS3 will most defiantly be released for XBox360 & The PS3 so does anyone know if it will be or read anything like that because I read on wikipedia that there releasing it for windows, Ipod, and mobile phones Ugh I really hope they do decide to release it on some consoles because I really do want it (secretley ) but not enough to let securROM screw my computer up but hey look at it like this, if it screws my PS3 up atleast I have a year warranty!

Hey guys this is nothing major but I was just wondering why the game sometimes pops up with a message before the game comes up saying something like "The application failed to initialize within the time period" I just took the game out and put it back in and started right up but that has come up like maybe 3 times since I installed AL, just wondering?... thanks you for any help


Today it came up again and I got to write down what exactly it said and it said The Sims 2 Apartment Life 'Unable to authenticate original disk within time period' Retry or Cancel I clicked on Cancel opened my disk tray up picked up the game set it back down and shut the drive then the game started right up, its weird its like its acting as if I pirated the software and its warning me not to continue! also I get errors telling me the game isn't inserted when it indeed is inserted, so how do I get that error when I read somewhere that people can play there game without the disk in the drive?

Well I have come up with another possibly impossible but awesome all the same request Squinge just like the title asks...Can you PLEASE make it to where our tiny sims can be changed into different clothes, I know that there are default replacements out there but I would like to have more than just one outfit for my infants, and you can only have 1 replacement in your downloads folder at a time and if I were to download a pink dress for my replacement and my sim has a son he's going to look awfully funny please please consider this one squinge I have been pining for it for the longest time

Hi I have been having a really hard time for the past couple of days on loading some sections of the site such as the WCIF section and the Misc Mods & Careers section and so on and I was just wondering if the site was going through any problems because everytime I try to go somewhere the page will not load it will just show the blue loading bar at the bottom of the screen and it will go half-way across and then just stop? I'm pretty sure it isn't my browser because I can go to most sites pretty easily so I was just curious if anyone else is having problems with the site being slow and not loading?

I think I have myself a problem and I am hoping you guys can shed some light on it so I can see what to do about it okay here we go I downloaded an apartment building last night from TSR that I fell in love with it's like 5 stories high and has 18 rooms with the last room on top being a penthouse suite that rents out for around 8,000$ and needless to say looking at the lot there is ALOT of detail first off the whole lot is already furnished so it really lags my machine down to be able to draw everything and put it all in one screen so what happened was I was working on one of the rooms and a windows error message pops up saying "Your computer is low on virtual memory, Windows is increasing your paging file so some application and programs may not function momentarily" something of that nature well I didn't think anything about it because my computer always does that because I really need some more RAM so anyway when I thought it was done because the little yellow exclamation mark had gone off my toolbar I clicked my Sims2 Apartment Life toolbar and my game just froze and a Sims2 error message came up that said "Sims2 Apartment Life has experienced an enternal error in the Graphics Adapter and will now terminate" something like that what could this be? do you all think the lot was just to much on my computer because I checked my system and my computer shows my graphics card is doing fine?
