Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Legendary Smart Beds
|

There is supposedly a "Smart Bed" hack somewhere around, that lets the Sims be assigned to beds that they use and won't use other ones.
Sounds nice. Sounds realistic, at least a tiny bit more realistic than having the mom or dad get into whatever bed they're standing near when they get tired. However.
I only found one, and that one is apparently for EPs, because when I installed it in vanilla TS2, it really bit. Nobody would use any beds, strange townies were salted around on the lot but wouldn't interact, infants couldn't be carried anywhere.
So. Does anybody know where this hack might be (the name, "TwoJeff", is associated with one version -- I think the one I have)?
Thanks.
Don.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims Can't Interact No Mo'
|

Yesterday I found that my Sims can no longer interact normally. Here's what I mean, and it happened when I opened a lot: - When I hover the cursor over a bed, I get a "No Actions Available" if that's what it is, message. The same message you get when you try to talk to a guest who has already decided to hook & book.
- The lot had a townie and a guest standing there, but one townie was wearing her bathing suit, and there's no pool. Interaction attempts with both were terminated by the "action balloon" (if that's what you call it -- in the upper left corner) disappearing before the action was completed.
- When a Sim tries to pick up the infant, most of the time she lands back on the floor. Not put there. Just disappears from the adult's arms and reappears on the floor.
- Putting the infant in the high chair doesn't always give me a "Feed Narny" or whatever option.
I think I installed the option to keep Sims from using others' beds, but as no library bed showed up, I'm not sure if it was successful.
The only other hack is the No Autonomy fridge, so adults have to serve meals, instead of feeding their own fat faces. This probably started after I tried to install the bed sorter, above.
What could be going on? And how can I stop it?
And how far is up?
Thanks.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / More Realistic Reactions to Undress
|

I always thought it was a bit weird that Sims are comfortable when undressed, or partly dressed, around others, where in meat life they wouldn't be.
Has anyone hacked an add-in that will either:
1. Make Sims avoid appearing in social situations when, say, in their underwear; or,
2. Make the other Sims react in some appropriate way, either with attraction and interest (Yay!) or embarrassment?
I was clued to this when I occasionally saw kids embarrassed by their parents' cuddling and kissing, and thought it would make the whole thing more meat-like if the Sims reacted to partial dress more realistically.
Come to think of it, it sounds like a handful for someone to do. Sure would be neat, though.
Somehow having a Mom show up to collect the mail wearing some of the undies I have downloaded (Yay! again) or showing up around the nanny just doesn't look right. Even if the Mom DOES look right.
Thanks.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Smart Beds
|

Somebody suggested that I look here (actually on InTeenimator) to find "Smart Beds".
They are beds that you can isolate to one person, so the kids don't constantly try to sleep in whatever bed they are close to, instead of their own, or the adults for that matter.
Can anyone show me where they are? They seem to be like alligators in the sewers, an urban legend.
Thanks.
Don.
