Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / SimPE freezing

OK, this is not a singular thing. Internet Explorer (I'm using Firefox) is always open, even when it's not in the taskbar. When I close it in Task Manager, it's re-generated by a thing called "AMOKER~ 1.EXE" which vanishes about five seconds after it re-generates IE6. It's making it so that I can't open My Docs. because it freezes. Also, I'm using Windows XP with SP2.

Well, I downloaded Milkshape because I wanted to start making stuff. But whenever I try to start Object Workshop it freezes. I really want to start making stuff, but I can't if OW doesn't work.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / ARRRRRH! Oh my the sims 3!

... ... ... I saw this on GameSpot almost a year ago. First off, that three is clearly fake, as well as propped up against the original Sims' logo. The build/buy mode table is Sims 2's, and the computer at the end was just the Alienware one recolored black. Ph41|463... just... just Ph41|463...

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Resolution change?

Research what you buy very very carefully. Most if not all out of the box PCs will not run any game well. I would say if you can swing the cash have a PC built for you. Get atlest 1gig of ram, the very best card you can and a nice FAT hard drive for alll the nice Downloads. And expansions... and TS3... but, my current was built for me, too... back in 2002, but, still...

Even with Vista, if you don't upgrade your video board and possibly your monitor you'll be limited to 800x600. Well, when I get Vista I'll be buying an entirely new PC, not just the disc.

With no additional resolutions showing up in the game display options, your video card will not support higher resolutions. We've gone through this before if I remember correctly.
In answer to the performance, higher resolutions will most likely decrease performance. OK, thanks for the help. I suppose 800X600 is OK until I get Vista.

As seen in a previously made topic on here, I'm having trouble changing the resolution on TS2. I changed my computer's res to 1024x768... I think... but nothing happened. I also wanted to know if it would be faster if I changed the resolution. Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst's speed changed when I changed the resolution, and not for the better... no resolution changes appear in Display Options in the game, either.
