1  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Community / The Ol' Barn Carvery on: May 16, 2007, 03:20:26 pm
If your Sims want a quick cup of coffee, or a quick snack, or a romantic dinner for two, let them dine out at The Ol' Barn Carvery. It's built on a medium 3x3 lot. It has a large dining area downstairs, a restaurant balcony upstairs, and a small coffee area where they can relax in, before or after dinner. It has two kitchens, two bathrooms and two lifts. No custom content. All EPs used, no stuff packs. Feel free to redecorate it, or rebuild parts of it, I'm ok with that. Smiley
2  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / 14 Spire Gardens on: May 16, 2007, 02:42:54 pm
A small, but fully equipped family home that's built on a small 3x1 plot. Costs 93,287 simoleons. It's been landscaped, decorated and furnished. It also has a greenhouse at the side that's ready-to-go. It's got a lounge, kitchen, a double bedroom, a single bedroom, a bathroom, and also has a driveway, complete with a car. No custom content. All EPs used, no stuff packs. Feel free to decorate this as you want, or you can knock down parts and redo it if you like. I'm ok with that. Smiley
3  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Tile lock? on: May 15, 2007, 06:58:53 pm
Now I'm not quite sure about this, but I thought that I once saw a cheat that would let you remove the road, or the pavement on a lot, and somehow lock the tiles in place? Or am I just imagining that? I've been doing some research, but I can't find it. When you move it to a different place in the neighbourhood, it goes back to how it was. I'm making a community beach lot, and would like to be able to keep the sand at the front instead of having the road and/or the pavement. If there is a way of keeping it, can someone let me know please. Many ta's! :worship:
4  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Community / The Market Place on: May 13, 2007, 02:32:28 pm
A small market place, where your Sims can visit, or they can purchase as a business. It comes with several ready to go produce shops. At the front of each shop, and inside, they can grow produce and sell it. I've left it optional if you want to change the inside to counters to display your produce. There's a couple of fruit trees, and a small cafe and a small restaurant. Smiley
5  Simmers' Paradise / Tutorials / How To Make Your Very First 3D Mesh...For Free! on: May 12, 2007, 12:54:53 pm
:howdy:

It's ready! It's BIG! And it uses free resources! I am hoping that it will help you to learn how get your very first 3D object, a simple vase, (start small, think BIG! Cheesy) into the Sims 2 game. Cheesy Some details about it:

The free programs I have used are:

SimPE
Wings 3D
UVMapper Classic
Gimp 2

The whole tutorial, is a step-by-step guide and has 642 steps. It has been written with beginners in mind, as if you were opening each program for the very first time, so that you can get used to each program's environment. Every step has it's own full-size screenshot. I have split it up into 6 stages, because as a whole tut, it was SO BIG! This way, it is much easier to download as the files are much smaller. And as it's in stages, you can take your time with each part. It was written on laptops and PCs that have Windows XP Home Edition. I don't know if this will run on Vista, but I am hoping that it will. If it does run OK on Vista, can someone say in this thread please to let other members know. Let's all help each other to learn. I have provided each stage in PDF and Word Document format. The pictures in the tut come out more clearer in the Word Document versions. But if you can't use word, instructions on how to view the pictures in the PDF are included within each stage. The screenshots are on a 1024 x 768 screen size. For best viewing results, if you could change your screen setting to these temporarily, that would be great!

If you need any help with anything with regards this tutorial, then please feel free to leave me a message in this thread only. I work abroad a lot, and my PMs get used up very quick. I'll help you as much as I can whenever I am at home.

This tut is exclusive for Insim. I wrote it as a big thank you to them for providing us all with such a marvellous home. Ta lads and ladies! Please do not host this tut anywhere else. You can put a link in a forum, that's ok, but make sure that it always links back to here please. Thank you.

My concern had been that the files are HUGE! I felt that it was unfair of me to upload them onto here as they would eat up so much bandwidth! So, out of respect for Insim, I have put them onto my free esnips account. Each link below, takes you straight to the file at my account.

There are two additional stages. These ones replace 'Stage 4' in the free tut. These optional stages use Paint Shop Pro X and Photoshop CS2. I made these extra stages at the request of lollipop69. But, these two programs, you have to purchase.

I wanted to say a big thank you to my wife Jessica. Without her help, this tut would never have been finished! She sorted through all me screenshots, added all the graphics to them, she sorted through me countless books of notes, then put all of these files together. Thank you so much love. :group hu:

6  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / The Harvesters Cottage on: April 04, 2007, 12:09:51 pm
It's been ages since I've made a home! I've only just recently started playing with Seasons. This home is called The Harvesters Cottage. I thought it might make a nice sized smallish home business maybe. The price is 157,964 simoleons. Pricey, I know, but it is completely furnished and gardened and has been decorated all through. It's on a small 3x2 lot. It has a large lounge, 2 bathrooms, a coat area at the back for if it gets a bit nippy going out to the ready to go greenhouse, with has a compost maker, water set up and lights. It's got a couple of fruit trees too. It has a large kitchen, which can be used as a party food area too. On the landing, that can be a study or an office, or just a lounging area. Also comes with a truck, but no garage. Sorry fellas, the ladies wanted it converted into a bigger kitchen! Cheesy It's got a really pretty seating area at the back. There's no custom content in it, only what came with the game.

It was made with all the expansions (no stuff packs) installed. Feel free to redecorate or demolish and rebuild wherever. That's ok with me! Make it your own home, that's the important thing! Cheesy
7  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / Modern Dining Table and Chairs + Recolours on: March 31, 2007, 02:34:49 pm
:howdy:

These have been made by a special request for lollipop69. She has provided all of the tables and chairs wood samples, except for the Dark Mahogany sample (courtesy of Wood Workshop), and they match the panelling and walls she has made. The samples I have used are: Almond Oak, Beech, Dark Mahogany, Maple, Oak and Pear. The Maple ones are the main meshes of each. You must have these installed so that the recolours will work. The chair was cloned from the Zecutime Social Chair, and the table was cloned from the Manor House Paree Dining Table. If you have these in your game, then the files will work. The chair costs 149, and the table costs 269. They are Pets and Seasons compatible. Cheesy

Feel free to recolour these, but only submit them back to here. Please do not upload to any paysites or to the Exchange.
8  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Upper cabinets crash game on: March 30, 2007, 04:29:28 pm
For ages I've been trying to make some upper cabinets for kitchens to match all the lower counters as a request. I managed to make some. I've attached a picture of them. I can get them to work on walls, no problems, and the Sims use the lower counters still, but when I try using them in a corner, the game crashes. I did make a corner bit as well. There must be something that I'm doing drastically wrong, and if anyone can help me, I'd be grateful ta. I've kept them as a counter file. Is it better to make them as a decorative item? If so, how do I add the textures from these to those? If there's a tutorial, does anyone have a link? Ta.
9  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / Wood effect recolours of Ring-O-Posies Commercial Planter on: January 22, 2007, 05:31:53 pm
 Hello! Here's some wood effect recolours of the Ring-O-Posies Commercial Planter. Only the tub colours have been changed. I recoloured them with Pets installed, so you might need that to be able to use them. Please only use them for either personal use, or for uploading into lots onto here. I've included them as separate files as well as a set one.
10  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / The Warrens on: December 17, 2006, 12:18:30 pm
Hello!:howdy:

I've named this one The Warrens, as it's got so many little nooks and crannys in it to explore. I've been building this of a night time, when I had some time to concentrate when all is quiet! I can't hear meself think in this place otherwise! It's on a small 30x30 lot. It costs 110,847 simoleons. A lot, BUT, it is completely decorated and furnished and that. And those plants don't come cheap either! It has got 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, an open plan living room, 2 bathrooms plus 1 spare loo in the garage incase they get caught short coming home from work. There's a garage with a spare area for hobbies or aspiration and career rewards. There's even a pool! I haven't added anything on the patio bit, accept for bushes and stuff. Oh, I nearly forgot! There's also a study type room at the top. It requires all expansions, and Glamour Life. I'm dedicating this one to Sleepycat and lollipop69, as they both inspired me to start building!

Here's some pictures of it and the file:
11  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / Time for some potty training! *updated 28 Jan* on: December 15, 2006, 02:39:55 pm
My best mate came round this afternoon with her little lad, and we got around to talking about potty training. She also loves playing the Sims games too. I make recolours for her every now and then, as well as my friends and family. She asked me if I could make for her something different to the original potty in the game. I said ok, and I gave it a go, and here's what I came up with!

*Edit* 28/Jan - Recolours added! Cheesy Red, yellow and lilac.
12  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / A Simple Home on: December 14, 2006, 04:20:25 pm
Here is my first attempt at building! I've never ever built anything before, I've only ever decorated a little bit, and with the help of some tutorials, I've made a home! Isn't it hard to do though! It's got 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an open kitchen/living room. I've done a litte bit of gardening at the front, but there's nowt out the back. It costs 60,952 simoleons. I've added some screenies too as well as the file. Packs needed: All expansions + Glamour Life.
13  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / Ooh look! Some shiny coffee tables! :) on: December 13, 2006, 05:25:10 pm
Hello!:howdy:

Here's 4...well 2 of each, coffee tables that I've been making. And yep, two are blingy, and two are chromy! They are oval and oblong. And they require Glamour Life and Pets. I've added some screenies for you as well as the files. Here they are!

*edit* 28/Jan - I am going to try at some point to redo the files to make them recolourable. I'll also add some recolours too. Smiley
14  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / For Renee... on: December 07, 2006, 05:48:09 pm
They are ready! They are fully working, and only require the expansions: University and Nightlife. I've added two short videos of them both in action. I must aplogise about the graininess of the vids, but I had to take off smooth edges ingame otherwise it wouldn't film them. But, I've added a couple of screenshots for you too as well as both files! Both Spa's only cost 399 simoleons each. They are called: Natural Spring Spa - Partial Basin and Natural Spring Spa - Full Basin. NB: The flowers, bushes and trees are not included! Click on the two pictures below to view the videos.

15  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / It's A Chrome Thing...WARNING: Materials used are very blingy! on: December 05, 2006, 03:04:59 pm

Helloooooo!

You thought the other tables and chairs were blingy? Wait until you see these!  Are you ready? I've now made them with a shiny chrome finish! And wow do they sparkle and shine! I'm adding some ingame screenshots for you as well as the zip files.

And a hint of my next items!.........they are wood...and.... That's all I'm going to say! I should have them ready by the end of the week for you.

AND ALSO!...I've just had a thought! Does anyone have a request that they'd like me to try...(emphasis on the word try)...to make for them? But nothing complicated!...Or animated!...I'm not THAT advanced yet! But, if you've got any suggestions, then I can give it a try. I can't promise anything! But I'll give it a go.
