46  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Why r Sims so stupid ? on: December 01, 2007, 08:48:51 am
I have a new complant. I downloaded morague's single plates of desserts mod from MTS2 and now, every single pregnant sim I have goes straight for the cheesecake. You would think that all of them might compare notes and not go for it, but I guess they just can't resist that rich, creamy goodness.

Romancing the professors never really worked for me. I got the grade boost once but that was it. I'd rather work my poor sims to death than let them have some loving especially with the old lady professors. *shudder*

Kattan-it doesn't. It's only for kids and teens.

The fastest way I've found for the grade meter to be filled is to write term paper, go to class twice and then either do a few assignments or study with a group of 5 or more kids.

Bev in NY-To my knowledge it'll be sold with the rest of the family's stuff so no.

I also scream at the family to "leave the damn baby alone!!!" It doesn't matter if the kid is asleep on Atavera's hacked blanket. No, the entire family has to run over, wake the kid up and put him in the crib and completely ignore him when he's screaming to be let out.

Oh yes, the Sims who are in aspiration failure who do the time wasting desperation actions. You know, rocking the flour sack baby, romancing the mop, etc. They annoy.

Oh! The bed making actions! If the kids are starving they go to get the food waiting on the table. But they scream and stomp if someone gets to their plate first. If I don't X out the action to make the bed, they will walk aaaaaaaaalllll the way across the house, upstairs and to their room to make the bed.

And the sims who have to go aaaaaaaaaallll the way upstairs with the toddler to use the tub in the farthest corner of the lot when the sim who's holding them is starving and needing to pee so badly. No, because bathing the kid is way more important than not peeing yourself. Idiots.

This isn't a sim problem, but an annoyance-the elevators break more often than the sinks or toilets or showers do. And even if the elevator is only on one floor for woohoo purposes, they still scream and get the memory of "plummeting" when it breaks..
50  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / If I rename the file, what will happen? on: November 20, 2007, 05:45:45 pm
Clothes, accessories, hair (most hair, I've had a few go MIA in game when I renamed them), mostly anything that's not a hack wouldn't do anything. Hacks shouldn't be renamed.

Bump. Nobody else is having problems?
52  Simmers' Paradise / Sims 2 Pictures / Wedding Pictures :) on: November 18, 2007, 06:12:19 pm
This is just a prewedding shoot I had with this bride, named Annie Beck. I downloaded the model pose hack ( here if you can't find it). I was having fun with my new toy and I got some really nice pictures. The one where she's sitting is my favorite, followed by the one with her hands on her head.

Just to show you the wedding area-it's another backyard wedding, with only her sons by another man and a few close friends in attendance. That's all the space they have!

53  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Specifically, what's the problem with BV? on: November 18, 2007, 02:22:05 pm
Egh, I realized it was a stupid question to ask as soon as I asked it, about the crack. Anyway, thanks.
54  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Specifically, what's the problem with BV? on: November 18, 2007, 11:34:32 am
I've heard a lot of bad press here, the BBS and MATY about the different problems people have had with the EP. What I want to know is, what exactly is the furor over SecuROM? What, specifically, will it do to my system if I go out and buy BV? Is it an almost guarantee if I install BV, will my system collapse into a pile of dust? And, if I grab the cracked version will that crash my computer?

On the one hand, I want it for the chance to go on vacation and to throw weddings on community lots. On the other, if it's going to damage my system, I don't want it.
55  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / All Custom Content gone!! Please help on: November 18, 2007, 06:52:32 am
Go to the Options button in game, there should be a box with "enable CC" or "disable CC". If it's on "disable CC", then just click "enable".
56  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Idk if i could ask this here on: November 17, 2007, 03:42:42 pm
I'm sorry-are you talking about the readmes? The little documents that say "Readme-" in the notebook page icon or the IE page with the big blue E on them? Those you can just delete.
57  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Errors with custom wedding cakes. on: November 17, 2007, 02:19:55 pm
I'm not really sure where to post this, but:

Has anyone else been having errors with the wedding cakes from pronupsims? Whenever I cut them, my sims always "jump". I tested it with boolprop and I got error logs up the wazoo-if anyone wants a log I'll create another one. The funny thing is, the cakes are cloned from the basegame wedding cake, shouldn't they behave the same? I think it's the cakes themselves that are bugged-I removed all downloads except that cake and I still had error messages.

My hunch could be wrong, but has anyone else had problems with those cakes?
58  Simmers' Paradise / Sims 2 Pictures / For Father's Day - Daddy/Child Pic Thread on: November 16, 2007, 07:13:34 pm
I am all over the place with pictures these days. *laugh* But I can't help it.

Here is Darrel Newport with his son, Khamisi (which means "born on Thursday" in Swahili). Darrel surprises the heck out of me-for a pleasure sim, he's an excellent dad to Khamisi and stepdad to Inaya-he reads to them, plays with them, feeds them, etc, all on his own. His wife, Akiko...being the Romance sim she is, she wouldn't touch her children with a ten foot pole.

Here's an in born game sim-Inaya Hummard, daughter of Akiko (Hummard) Newport and Edwin hughes, random child townie I grew up. She's one of the prettiest sims I've ever seen. The woman in the back is her mother.

Just posted this in Helena_Chan's thread, but...

I downloaded Helena's Jamie Turmatski (if that's even right) ages ago but I actually forgot to put her into my neighborhood until today. I also grabbed sorrowful tear's Christian (Turnbull?) and put him in as well. I want to see what sort of babies these guys will make together. Hell, forget the babies for a moment-I've planned their wedding! Poofy dress, lots of guests and flowers and so on and so forth.

They have one bolt of chemistry but act like they have two-Christian cannot keep his paws off her. And Jamie...well...she tends to stalk him. O_o She comes by every so often and rings the doorbell non stop. But still-I'm pleased with both of these guys, they are adorable.

I modified Christian slightly-I got rid of the shiny Enayla skin, replaced it with the tan Louis skin modified by Lin. I replaced his eyes with the default replacement dark blue ones by Helenae I have (cuz the shiny skin and large blue eyes we had were creeping me out). Some of his makeup I removed and the lipstick got replaced with more natural lips. Jamie's hair was a pay mesh, I kept it blonde and made it curly and changed her clothes. I didn't modify anything other than that.
