I couldn't imagine not buying all the new EPs from EA because I got so used to looking forward to them and getting excited to see what they would think of next. Now, when they talk about releasing something new, I roll my eyes and sigh. And I as hard as this will be I am still not getting AL….

My mouth would nearly salvate when it came to getting a new EP. I even went and purchased more memory so I knew I had nothing to fear when it came to buying FT.

I played FT for a while without the patch and I had no real problems until... Now I can't possibly imagine reinstalling it. It has taken me months to repair my game back to some normal decency of playing. I had to recover all of my families and repair each of my Sim's relationships. Nothing irrates me more when a sim thinks another sim is hot but they're brother and sister.

Funny but incredibly accurate! Bravo you did a great job!

I agree with both of you. Since FT crashed my game I uninstalled it. Even though Insim is updated now I am too scared to reinstall it. As much as AL seems so cool, I do not think I will be purchasing it. Too much of a headache and what has EA done-nothing.

Thanks. I'll try this. I'm just mad this happened. I'd love to have never bought that EP, but I'd never had a reason to distrust them before.

I hear you! The worst thing for me is my own greed. My game worked fine with all my hacks until I unstalled the "Carrigon's hack" for keeping NPCs of my lots. (you know-the ones that show up constantly to alert your sims they have recieved a high level in a hobby.) Now my game is still unstable. It crashes every other time I try to play it. Although once I get into the game it works perfectly fine.

I know one thing, I probably will NEVER reinstall FT again. I have spent the last two weeks just trying to rebuild everything I lost. Thankfully I saved all my CC so that was repairable. But once I reinstalled everything I forgot to take out some CC for FT-thus causing my game to crash. Now that it's gone, something deep down is still corupt and I don't know how to repair it. It sucks!

I know it's a little after the fact but the exact same thing happened to me. I tryed every combo I could think of to get my game from crashing. In the end, before I completely made a mess of my game, I installed SimPE and extracted all my sims back into my Cas and BS bins. Then (removed the folder and put it on desktop) and uninstalled everything-never reinstalling FT. I found instructions on how to do this from MTS2 Wiki help section. I lost all of my sims relationships, memories and houses of course but I salvaged my sims.

My game still crashes at the start, so I still have problems. I have done all the things you can think of too. I think I should have done something to the registry to remove the last associated files, but I am worried that this will dammage my computer. Anyway, since you where in the almost same position I thought I would mention this. I did recover most of my sims and I have used SimPE to repair their relationships.
23  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / FT sims jump back/no wants-fears on: April 17, 2008, 06:47:42 pm
I have a similar problem, I added Carrigans hack to prevent NPCs from showing up or calling then all of a sudden they have no wants no motives no fears. I took out all my hacks and still no motives. I am going to just reinstall FT and get it over with.
24  Simmers' Paradise / FreeTime Help / Freetime Help on: April 17, 2008, 06:40:09 pm
I got one for you guys. I installed FT and everything was ok at first. Then I got really tired of the NPC's calling and coming by the house, so I downloaded Carrigan's hack to stop this from happening. But now my game works but when I play with the charaters, the have no motives. I mean their motives are not there. Everything else was fine, so I took it out because this was the only hack that I added. But still, no motives. I removed all hacks and the game crashed, when I finally got it going again, still no motives.
Now I'm lost, I am going to have to uninstall FT and then try it all over again. This saddens me.

You can also use Kansascityrose's (TSR) invisible blocks. You place the object on the block, rhen use the design tool to make the block disappear. Then you move the block and object anywhere you want with both cheats on. She has several blocks of all different heights for different objects.
26  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / effing Car Lag on: April 13, 2008, 08:15:14 am

Sadie, I think with the patch installed the car freeze has been worse.

Big lots take a bit longer to load. Pre-patch my game took about 7 or 8 minutes from start up to neighborhood screen. Entering a lot took about 2 to 3 minutes more. Now it takes almost 15 minutes for the same play. I have loads of D/Ls (of course). At this time I have 4.4 GIGS of D/Ls!

My PC is far from anemic. It is 4.6 GHZ, 2 Gigs of RAM, ATI 1650 Pro. All I can say is GRRRRRRR!

OMFG! I'm starting to think my sims don't need jobs! I'm so tried already about the car lag thing. I think it's funny though that this is worse after the patch and it's even an issue at all. In all the EPs since nightlife when has lag due to the cars ever been an issue?

I agree with everybody. I just waant these people to stop interupting my sims by coming in their houses. I'm starting to hate it more and more!

They don't get completely reset - what lewis probably meant was that the sims normally at work would end up back home, and consequently lose a day's work (if you have holiday time you use up one of those days). This is why I keep Squinge's skip-school-no-grade-loss in my game Wink I do believe JM has a fix in his debugger for work performance Smiley

I've played with the patch installed and no problems, so for what it does fix, I'll keep it Wink But then, I seem to be lucky with things like patches and securom...

I'll tell the truth! The patch only resets the lot by bring sims home from work and stopping all actions the sims where doing. Someone earlier asked why didn't they fix those bloody phone calls? I already hate when chatting sims call my other sims all the time. It angers me. I minimize the amounts of phones in my sims' houses because I can't stand the ringing. ...And then here comes FreeTime!
29  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Irritating, Suicide-Inducing Music on: April 07, 2008, 03:34:47 pm
All the music playing in my game come from my very own MP3s. Matter of fact, everytime I buy a new album I put the MP3's into my music folders and listen. Whenever I get tired of hearing my own songs I replace them with more and more. You can even have your own music coming out of the sims radio, so why not?
When I load the game I shut the music off until I get into my nieghborhood. It's the greatest system ever.
